Curved prescription lenses in curved frames

What is special about this?

Optimal optical quality with maximum protection.

Curved prescription lenses give you clear vision with maximum protection in curved glasses. For sports, chores or motorcycling, that’s exactly what you need.

In collaboration with our frame suppliers and lens manufacturers, we analyze each frame in conjunction with your eyeglass prescription so that we can grind in the best possible lens and keep you with the best vision. In doing so, we take an extra look at factors that are natural with straight glasses, such as:

– The spectacle strength
– The pupil distance
– The curvature of the frame

Why are curved glasses so different from ordinary straight glasses?

In traditional straight spectacles, the lens is positioned perpendicular to the viewing axis. The strength of the glass corresponds to the spectacle prescription and is the same across the entire surface. When grinding the glass into the frame, the optician does not have to consider image distortion.

With curve glasses, the viewing direction does not correspond to the center of the glass. The curvature of the glass creates an effect where the viewing direction is not perpendicular to the glass. If our optician does not take this into account, it creates a distorted image that becomes stronger toward the edges of the field of vision.

When making and grinding curved lenses, we take into account the changed viewing angle due to the bending of the frame and the curvature of the lens. We correct the lenses so that you see comfortably through the center and maintain the same viewing comfort at the edges, without distortion. We apply this approach to all curve lenses and other curved lenses.

For that, we measure:

  • the position of the glasses in relation to your eyes
  • the distance between glass and eye
  • the curvature of the frame
  • the angle at which the frame faces your face

Thus, curved lenses fit your viewing direction and face shape optimally.

What do you experience with this technique?

With special cutting techniques, you experience with curve lenses in your curved frames:

  • Clear vision based on recalculation of the glasses prescription on the position of the lenses
  • Optimal field of view without peripheral image distortion
  • Lightweight and protective lenses made of materials resistant to high-impact particles
  • Optimal protection against UV, wind, dust and sweat
  • The ideal combination between protection, seeing well and being seen
