Winter sports goggles – the right protection for every discipline

Winter sports are all about vision, comfort and safety. Whether you’re racing down the slopes, skating for miles or braving a cross-country trail, the right goggles make all the difference. At Specialspex we distinguish ski goggles and sports glasses, so you always find the ideal match for your activity and conditions.

Ski goggles – maximum protection on the slopes
Ski goggles are designed for speed, altitude and extreme weather conditions. They offer complete shielding against wind, snow and UV rays. Thanks to double lenses with anti-fog coating, your vision remains clear even in cold and exertion. The wide fit fits your helmet perfectly and protects your eyes during descents in bright sunlight or dense snow. Ideal for skiing and snowboarding.

Sports goggles – light, flexible and made for movement
Sports goggles are more compact and lighter than ski goggles, with a tight fit and high breathability. They offer excellent protection against cold, wind and glare, without the feel of a full goggle. Perfect for active winter sports where you combine speed with endurance.

Skating
At high speeds on natural ice or the rink, good vision is crucial. Sport goggles for skating protect against cold driving wind, sun and glare on the ice, while the aerodynamic shape ensures minimal drag.

Cross-country skiing
During long trips in varying light conditions, cross-country ski goggles offer contrast-enhancing lenses and UV protection for optimal vision. They are lightweight, well-ventilated and remain comfortable even during prolonged exertion.

SpecialSpex winter sports goggles combine style, technology and comfort – tailored to every discipline. Whether you choose piste, ice or trail: the right goggles will keep you sharp, safe and focused. Prescription winter sports goggles allow you to keep your vision sharp even on the slopes, without having to wear regular glasses under your ski goggles. With special sports lenses or an insert clip, the lenses are adjusted to your prescription, while the ski goggles retain their wide field of vision, ventilation and protection from wind, snow and bright sunlight. So you benefit from maximum comfort, good contrast in changing light conditions and a stable fit while skiing or snowboarding.

Winter sports prescription glasses

At Specialspex we distinguish three types of prescription winter sports goggles: ski goggles with a universal insert clip, ski goggles where the prescription is fully integrated into the visor and (mountain) sports prescription goggles that are more like sports sunglasses. So there is a solution for every winter athlete that suits your preference, vision needs and way of skiing or snowboarding.

Frequently asked questions

For almost every ski goggle, we can find a suitable ski clip. Ski clips come in different shapes and sizes. When ordering, we therefore ask for the brand and model of your ski goggle so we can select a clip that fits well in your goggle.
In a ski helmet with a visor, it is not possible to place an optical ski clip. A ski clip is attached to the inside of a ski goggle, not to a visor helmet.
Yes, an anti-fog coating really works. It is applied industrially to the lenses and effectively helps reduce fogging. Especially in cold conditions, such as skiing or snowboarding, an anti-fog coating provides clearer vision for a longer time.
Category 4 lenses can also be made with prescription. These lenses are very dark and intended for extremely bright sunlight, for example in the mountains. Please note that category 4 lenses are not suitable for use in traffic.
