Depending on the type of sports glasses, the frame and the strength there are different ways to make the prescription lenses.
We distinguish between four different ways of making prescription sports glasses:

Brillen op sterkte verglazen
Brillen op sterkte verglazen betekent dat we het door jou gekozen montuur voorzien van nieuwe glazen op sterkte. Deze glazen worden gemaakt met dezelfde kromming als het montuur, zodat ze perfect passen en optimaal zicht geven. Dit kan met enkelvoudige glazen voor veraf of met multifocale glazen voor veraf én dichtbij.
Je stelt de glazen zelf samen, inclusief eventuele tinten en coatings, zodat de bril precies past bij jouw gebruik. Afhankelijk van het gekozen montuur is deze oplossing meestal mogelijk tot ongeveer +6 tot -6 dioptrie.
Brillen op sterkte met clip
Bij een clip-in systeem worden de glazen op sterkte in een speciale clip geplaatst die achter de originele glazen of het vizier van de bril wordt bevestigd. Zo behoud je alle eigenschappen van de originele sportglazen, zoals ventilatie, kleur, spiegelcoating of een meekleurend vizier.
Je kiest eerst een sportbril die geschikt is voor een clip-in systeem en stelt daarna de glazen op sterkte samen. Dit kan ook met multifocale glazen. Veel modellen hebben een vizier met meekleurend glas, ook wel fotochromatisch genoemd. Dat is ideaal bij wisselend weer, omdat het glas zich automatisch aanpast aan zon en schaduw. Clips kunnen in vrijwel elke sterkte worden gemaakt.
Brillen op sterkte in het vizier
Brillen op sterkte met glazen in het vizier geven je een groot en rustig zichtveld met veel bedekking. In het vizier maken we een nauwkeurige uitsparing waarin de glazen op sterkte worden gemonteerd. De sterkteglazen krijgen dezelfde kleur of meekleurende eigenschap als het vizier, zodat je in het scherm slechts een smalle rand ziet en comfortabel scherp blijft kijken.
Het voordeel van deze vizierbrillen op sterkte is de combinatie van een groot gezichtsveld en goede bescherming. Door het grote vizier ben je beter beschermd tegen wind, stof, vuil en insecten. Je kijkt bovendien niet door twee lagen zoals bij een clip-oplossing, wat het beeld rustiger maakt en de kans op condens verkleint. Daarnaast profiteer je van een ruim, doorlopend gezichtsveld met een natuurlijke pasvorm.
Brillen geschikt voor hoge sterktes
Voor brildragers met hogere sterktes zijn er verschillende oplossingen mogelijk. Dit doen we bijvoorbeeld met een clip, een optical dock of door te kiezen voor een iets vlakker model sportbril. Op deze manier blijven de voordelen van een sportbril behouden, terwijl de glazen iets kleiner en vlakker kunnen worden gemaakt, waardoor ze geschikt zijn voor hogere sterktes.
Met deze oplossingen kunnen we brillen maken voor zeer hoge sterktes. We hebben ervaring met sterktes van ongeveer -20 tot +20 dioptrie.
Sportbrillen met alleen een leesdeel
Voor sporters die uitsluitend een leesbril nodig hebben, zijn er ook oplossingen. Hierbij wordt de bril gemaakt zonder sterkte in het bovenste deel van het glas en alleen met een leessterkte onderin de bril. Dit gebeurt met een standaard leesdeel dat als een klein half maantje onderin het glas zichtbaar is.
Deze brillen zijn verkrijgbaar met vaste leessterktes zoals +1.0, +1.5, +2.0 of +2.5. Wil je geen zichtbaar leesdeel in het glas, dan kun je ook kiezen voor een bril met multifocale glazen op sterkte.
How do I order prescription glasses?
All of our glasses indicate whether they can be made to your prescription. First select the frame and color you like and then choose “Create your prescription lenses”. You will then enter the configurator where you can make all the choices for your lenses.
You first choose the lens design. Single vision glasses are designed for one viewing distance. Multifocal or varifocal glasses combine far and near in one lens. Next, you choose the tint. Clear for general use, brown or copper for extra contrast, gray for natural colors and green for tranquility in shaded conditions. You can also choose polarized lenses to reduce glare on water and wet asphalt, or self-tinting lenses that darken in the sun and lighten again in lower light. This is ideal for sports glasses and safety glasses you use outdoors.
Next, you choose the finish. A mirror coating provides a colored mirror on the front of the glass and also provides a water-repellent and dust-resistant effect. You can also choose an anti-fog treatment on the inside of the glass. This helps prevent fogging during sports, on the motorcycle or in changing temperatures, keeping your vision clear.

Curved prescription lenses in curved eyeglasses
Optimal optical quality with maximum protection
Curved prescription lenses allow you to maintain clear, sharp vision in curved sports glasses while benefiting from maximum protection. Working with our frame suppliers and lens manufacturers, we analyze each frame in conjunction with your prescription glasses. This allows us to optimally calculate and grind the lenses so that you maintain the best vision.
In doing so, we consider factors that are often less critical with straight glasses, such as:
– The spectacle strength
– The pupil distance
– The curvature of the frame
Why are curved glasses so different from ordinary straight glasses?
In traditional straight spectacles, the lens is almost perpendicular to the viewing axis. The strength of the lens corresponds to the spectacle prescription and is the same over the entire surface. Therefore, when grinding these lenses into the frame, we do not need to consider image distortion.
However, we do take into account the distance between the eyes and the lenses. In sports glasses with a clip-in solution, the lenses are often a little closer to the eyes than in regular glasses. Here we adjust the calculation of the lenses accordingly, so that you continue to see sharply and comfortably even with a clip-in system.
Normal glasses: the viewing direction is perpendicular to the glass
With curve glasses, the viewing direction does not correspond exactly to the center of the glass. This is because the curvature of the glass causes you to look through the glass at a different angle, so the viewing direction is not perpendicular to the surface.
Failure to take this into account can result in distortion that becomes stronger at the edges of the visual field. Therefore, all of our curved sports lenses are specially calculated based on both the characteristics of the frame and the data of the wearer. As a result, vision remains sharp and comfortable even in highly curved sports glasses.
